Recommendations and Testimonials

Here is what students have to say about Erik's Permit to Carry Course:

"Very knowledgable instructor...I would definitely recommend Erik to my friends."---L.S., Business Owner, Stillwater

"I thought that this course would be like going back to school, but then I met Erik.  He's very patient with his students and he's right there to help them.  In Erik's class, you won't feel like an idiot, and he won't treat you like one."---T.M., Faribault, Construction Contractor

"I can't believe that I had a permit for fifteen years and nobody ever taught me this information.  Erik's class was a real eye-opener."--J.C., Retired, Northfield

Timothy Yoon, the editor of UP! Magazine, had this to say after publishing an article Erik wrote about crime prevention:

"Your idea is really sound and what your trying to do should be made available to a large audience...I want to make sure your words get out.  Thanks."

During the 1998 Minnesota Gubernatorial Campaign, all eyes were on former Brooklyn Park Mayor and professional wrestler Jesse Ventura.  As a member of the Ventura Security Team, Erik assisted Mr. Ventura, his family, and his campaign staff during the grueling "Drive to Victory Tour."  Here is what Pam Ellingson, Mr. Ventura's Chief of Staff, had to say:

"I wish you luck and want to let you know, it was a great pleasure to work with you and appreciate all of your great expertise on the security team during the last few days of the campaign.  I couldn't have maintained the control I did without your help."

During his time working as Crime Prevention Officer for Augsburg College, Erik worked to address the issue hate crime and provide assistance to groups concerned about this type of crime.  Here is what Augsburg English Professor Douglas E. Green had to say about Erik:

"I am happy to recommend Erik D. Pakieser.  Mr. Pakieser has helped raise awareness of hate crimes and hate-motivated behavior on our campus.  More importantly, he has offered constructive recommendations on personal safety that benefit everyone on campus..."

"Mr. Pakieser has also shared his expertise on personal safety with the our group in an excellent lecture on hate crimes and their prevention.  For many students unfamilliar with city life, Mr. Pakieser has been a lifesaver."

"Above all, he gave this group of students, staff, and faculty, who too often have had reason to mistrust law enforcement, a clear sense that Augsburg Security could and would help them."

On several occasions, Erik served as a guest speaker for Augsburg College Sociology Professor James A. Vela-McConnell, Ph.D. for a class about hate crimes and domestic terrorism.  Here is what Dr. Vela-McConnell has to say about Erik's presentations:

"I was pleased with Erik's presentation and discussion.  He obviously knew his material on hate crimes and domestic terrorism well and was able to convey that knowledge to the students.."

"I look forward to having Erik join this same class next year and present on hate crimes and would definitely recommend him to anyone who might want him to present on this topic or any other topic in which he has expertise."
